Drawing-Based Replacement Hydraulic Cylinders
Send your design drawings. JW will review a replacement solution with you.
Facing an obsolete cylinder, recurring leakage or a long OEM lead time? JW Industrial Solutions evaluates drawing-based replacement solutions for presses, steel mills, marine equipment, mining and industrial machinery. Customer design drawings are required for quotation and manufacture. Operating conditions, including the working environment and frequency of use, are helpful if available.
Request a Replacement Cylinder Review or email info@jwindustrialsolutions.com. A dedicated specialist will follow up by email.
When to Review an Alternative Cylinder Source
- Obsolete cylinder: the original unit is discontinued and you have design drawings for a replacement review.
- Long OEM lead time: the quoted delivery does not fit a maintenance shutdown or production schedule.
- Recurring leakage or failure: the existing cylinder or its operating conditions need a closer engineering review.
- High purchase or maintenance cost: the project needs a like-for-like quotation or an approved value-engineering proposal.
- Second-source qualification: an OEM or maintenance team wants to assess an additional manufacturing source for a repeat program.
Design Drawings Are Required for a Replacement Quotation
Enquiries are welcome in any format. Please email your design drawings to info@jwindustrialsolutions.com; drawings are required for quotation and manufacture. You do not need to repeat information already shown on the drawings. Operating conditions, including the working environment and frequency of use, are helpful if available. A dedicated specialist will follow up by email.
JW reviews the drawings to confirm the proposed replacement scope, interfaces and acceptance requirements. Any proposed changes are submitted for your approval before manufacture.

Application Review Before Replacement Design
The engineering review begins with your design drawings and the requirements they define. You do not need to enter drawing dimensions again in a separate RFQ form. If available, explain the reason for replacement and share operating conditions or changed machine conditions to support the review.
For steel mills and presses, operating function and frequency of use can help the review. For mining and marine equipment, information on contamination, corrosion exposure and the service environment is helpful if available. Changes to pressure, force, mounting, or duty require review of the cylinder and its integration with the equipment before a replacement design is approved.
Hydraulic Cylinder Order Process
- Send your enquiry: email your design drawings and any other enquiry information to JW. Operating conditions are helpful if available.
- Receive the proposal and quotation: JW reviews your drawings and provides a proposed design solution and quotation.
- Confirm the order: once you accept the quotation, the order is placed.
- Approve the detailed drawings: JW supplies detailed design drawings for your review. Production starts only after you approve these drawings.
- Production and factory inspection: you are welcome to visit the factory to inspect product quality at any time during production and before shipment. Contact your JW specialist to coordinate your visit.
- Delivery and documentation: after delivery, inspection reports can be supplied according to your requirements.
Quotations include products and accessories (including hydraulic-cylinder seals), all certificate costs and transportation to the quoted destination. Standard custom-product payment: 30% advance, 70% before shipment. Quotes are available in your requested currency and format. See our quotation and payment terms.
See our engineering, inspection, and quality workflow. A replacement is not represented as interchangeable with the original until the relevant design and acceptance requirements have been confirmed.

Recurring Leakage, Reliability and Value Engineering
Alongside your design drawings, failure or repair history and operating conditions are helpful if available. The review can consider seal selection, rod condition, bore finish, guidance, mounting alignment, materials, weld requirements, fluid condition, and contamination. The purpose is to identify relevant design and application factors rather than assume that a new seal or a copied dimension will resolve the issue.
Value-engineering options can be evaluated for component selection, manufacturability, service access, and the inspection plan. Proposed changes require approval against the agreed performance and interface requirements. Compare acquisition cost together with qualification, freight, planned spares, maintenance, and downtime exposure; service life and cost savings cannot be inferred from purchase price alone.
Second-Source Programs, Small Batches and Delivery Planning
Industrial OEMs, hydraulic repair shops and maintenance teams can email design drawings for second-source evaluation in any enquiry format. A dedicated specialist will follow up and coordinate the quotation, drawing approval, inspection and repeat-order requirements with you.
Single-unit and small-batch enquiries are welcome. JW reviews the drawings and confirms project feasibility, pricing and lead time in the quotation. If you have a preferred delivery date or a shutdown schedule, you can include it in your enquiry.
Warranty Terms and After-Sales Enquiries
Request written warranty and support terms with the quotation, including the coverage period, start date, claim process, inspection arrangements, and treatment of replaceable seals and wear components. Clarify installation, maintenance, return freight, and service responsibilities before ordering.
For after-sales support, email info@jwindustrialsolutions.com with your enquiry and order reference. A dedicated specialist will review the issue with you against the supplied specification and order terms.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are design drawings required for a replacement cylinder?
Yes. Customer design drawings are required for quotation and manufacture. Enquiries are welcome in any format with those drawings; operating conditions are helpful if available.
Can JW replace an obsolete European or American hydraulic cylinder?
Submit your design drawings for assessment. JW reviews the proposed replacement against the interfaces, operating requirements, materials and agreed inspection criteria. Detailed design drawings are supplied for customer approval after order confirmation and before production.
Can a replacement address recurring leakage?
Share the failure and repair history. The review needs to consider the cylinder together with the fluid, installation, loads, and operating conditions. Any proposed changes and validation requirements are agreed before manufacture.
Can JW quote a faster or lower-cost alternative?
Request a project-specific quotation and provide your required delivery date and cost priorities. Timing and price depend on the approved scope, materials, quantity, testing, and shipment. A comparison should use the same performance and acceptance requirements.
